On lawn & garden tires the “/” separates the  width of the tire (B) from the height of the tire (C) measured from crown to bead. (D) is the rim diameter or Width / Height - Rim
The tire description would look like B/C-D

The “X” separates the overall diameter of the tire (A) from the width (B) of the tire. (D) represents the rim diameter or Diameter X Width - Rim
The tire description looks like  AXB-D
